Biography

Graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.
She studied Film Direction at the EFTI School in Madrid, Spain.

She has a diploma in Book Arts. Juana is a documentary
photographer and audiovisual producer who works on projects
and stories related to social issues in her country, Paraguay.

She worked as a lmmaker at Factstory Agency, a subsidiary of
Agence France Presse. She is co-founder of the audiovisual
content production company Invernadero, Imagen Fija y en
Movimiento, and Agencia T, which focuses on documentary
photography. He is also dedicated to university teaching.

In 2016 she won the El Ojo Salvaje Association Award for her
photographic documentary book, La Terminal, becoming
the rst Paraguayan photographer to exhibit her work at the
Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) in Washington D.C., USA.

Hippolyte Bayard photo essay prize nalist in 2020, awarded by
EOS Association and the French Embassy in Paraguay.
In 2020, she won the National Geographic Covid-19 Emergency
Fund for Journalism. In 2021, she received the Amnesty
International's Peter Benenson Award in the Journalistic
Work in Alternative Media category.

She participated in several collective and individual exhibitions,
including the Xl Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and
Urbanism, in 2019.
